100% PURE CERTIFIED ORGANIC ESSENTIAL OIL COLLECTION Welcome to the world of Jasmin, a world where beauty, wellbeing and nature have been carefully blended together to form the luxurious certified organic Jasmin Skincare and Aromatherapy range.
Jasmin Certified Organic essential oils provide an important and potent part of our ingredients list and can also be purchased and used separately as products in their own right. It is due to the aromatherapy content of our skin, body and professional products that we are able to achieve the results that we do.
What is an essential oil? When the sun, water, nutrients and the enzymes in the plants and flowers react they form essential oils – nature's most effective remedies for so many benefits for body, mind and spirit. Everything has energy and the energy of an essential oil is of the highest vibration of any of the plant material which means that it has qualities and potentials beyond anything we have seen in mother nature. When a plant or flower is grown organically and without pesticides or genetic modifications or interference this energy is even stronger and more potent than ever before. This is aromatherapy at its best. An essential oil is not an 'oil' or 'fat' as such but is a volatile substance which means it vaporises easily into the atmosphere, when it does this we can smell its fragrance and this in aromatherapy is what has an effect on the mind and senses.
Essential oils can also be used on the skin to provide physical benefits and skin nutrition as well as being small and powerful enough to work their way into the circulatory system and therefore to work systemically with the body's functions such as excretion, circulation, detoxification, lymphatic flow and immune function.
Essential oils are usually up to 60 or 70 times stronger than the plant they come from, and this can increase by a further 10-15 % with Certified Organic essential oils due to the lack of interference in the substructure of the plants cells from pesticides and man made chemicals. Essential oils are a wonder of nature and we need to treat them with respect as their true power to enhance our health is greater than we yet know. This being said essential oils can be used very safely to enhance the quality of life, improve functioning of the body and mind and also to treat ailments and symptoms.
How to Use Essential Oils 1, Diffuser There are many different ways of diffusing essential oils into the air. If you don't have access to a diffuser for any reason then simply inhale a few drops directly from a tissue to achieve your desired effect. Candle or light diffusers are very common – you will need to use water as they get very hot and they will tend to evaporate the oils more quickly. Use 8-10 drops and keep away from drafts and doorways. Electric vaporisers are becoming more common now and they are a fantastic safe and easy way to gently introduce essential oils into the atmosphere. Some use water and some don't so read the instructions. Generally they reach more optimal temperatures for diffusing the oils and so you will need between 5-7 drops of essential oil. Electric diffusers – these are very new to the Aromatherapy world and tend to diffuse oil into the atmosphere via a pump that mists the oils very finely into the air without changing the oil at all – these type of diffusers are great for treating chronic symptoms such as headaches, coughs, colds and hayfever. 2, Bath It is advisable to follow the guide as to which oils are suitable for using in the bath. ALWAYS mix them into some kind of fat or oil or solubliser first as they will not mix with water. Any kind of vegetable oil can be used but some will leave more of a residue in the bath than others depending on how thick or heavy they are; use approx 3-5 drops of essential oil per 10mls of vegetable oil. Milk or buttermilk can be used for a “Cleopatra” style bath but remember to mix the essential oil in very well and use at least 2 cups for 5-10 drops of oil with this method. 3, Massage This is a great medium for getting essential oils into the skin and also into the circulatory and lymphatic systems. If you use a high quality natural massage base there is no need to shower after and if you cover the skin with a wrap or clothing after massage you will get maximum penetration of essential oils into your body. Use about 10 -15 drops of essential oil into 25mls of massage base. Try adding essential oils to plain unfragranced natural creams or balms for massage such as natural shea nut butter (this will need to be warmed slightly to blend the oils). Try self-massage or simply use your massage oil as a daily body treatment for great glowing skin. 4, Compress This is a quick and easy way to use essential oils for a wide variety of situations. Try compresses hot or cold depending on the reason. Add 1-3 drops of essential oil to a bowl or sink of water and rapidly agitate the water to temporarily mix the essential oil with the water then immediately dip a face washer or hand towel into the water and submerge, gently wring out the towel so that it is no longer dripping then apply as required. For headaches lay the compress (hot or cold) across the forehead, close your eyes and relax for a few minutes inhaling deeply and slowly. For cleansing the face repeat the steps as above and gently hold the compress over the face with eyes closed for 30 secs – this works well with a warm to hot compress. For muscle pain – apply the warm to hot compress to the area as above and then put a warm dry towel over the top to prevent the essential oils escaping. You may need to use a few extra drops of essential oil if you are treating a large area such as the neck, shoulders or back. 5, Skincare This is one of the most common uses of essential oils, however for results with aromatherapy skincare you need to use a good aromatherapy skincare brand to ensure that the right level and type of essential oils are present to achieve the desired results. To make your own formulas try using a good face oil base and add 1-2 drops of essential oil per 10mls of face oil base. Certain essential oils are better for facial skincare than others as the vapours of some essential oils are too strong for the delicate eye area such as peppermint. Please check the essential oil guide for more information. |
